To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven…” (Ecc. 3. 1-8)

There is never a perfect time to hold a capital campaign. But our buildings need much work, and we can build a church and a parish hall that will be a powerful means of evangelization in a fallen world. More than ever, the world in which we live needs to see a clear statement of the glory of God. Our new church will be such a statement. And inside our community, a profound formation of our young members will take place, as they worship inside a church which is in full conformity with the teaching of the Catholic Church and her tradition regarding proportion, radiance and harmony.

Inside proposed OLMC

In those days I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  (Apoc. 21. 2)

Our parish aspires to adorn our church as a bride prepared for her husband who is our Blessed Lord.  With God’s grace, we seek to create a place of true beauty which will give profound glory to God, and be a place of formation for the youth.

Introibo ad altare Dei.  Ad deum qui laetificat juventutem meam.
I will go in to the altar of God.  To God, Who giveth joy to my youth.
(From the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar)

Terrible is this place: it is the house of God, and the gate of heaven; and it shall be called the court of God.  (From the Introit of the Mass of the Dedication of a Church)

A church should be a place of awesome and terrible beauty.  The very appearance of our churches should call this great truth to mind.  Everything in the church ought to be firmly rooted here, but point to what is beyond this world.

And He that sat on the throne said: Behold, I make all things new.  (Apoc. 21. 5)

May God reward you!

I am sure that now is the time to build. Construction and material costs are very low. In a sense, everything is on sale.

For me to ask you to sacrifice for this project, I must make my own sacrifice. So I will donate one full year of salary, plus all stole fees and Mass stipends for a year, which comes to $11,400.00.  In this way, I will be able to ask you for a sacrifice by giving a large one myself.

Please be generous to our project, and help our traditional Latin Mass to be a part of an evangelization to a world which wants to forget there is a God.

In Christ and Mary,

Rev. James W. Jackson, FSSP
Pastor, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
