The radio station conducted a three day fund raising campaign to raise necessary funds to keep it on the air and to help spread a better awareness of the existence Catholic Radio in the Archdiocese. The fundraiser was successful because many listeners donated $90,000.

To celebrate the closing of the Year of the Priest, Fr. Hearty gave a spiritual talk on Saturday June 5th. After the conference a short video was shown entitled: Alter Christus. The DVD was issued in conjunction with the Congregation of the Clergy this year. “Alter Christus”, a fast-paced film on the many aspects of the priesthood in the life of the Church.

Fr. Brian Harrison OS, MA, STD, is an Australian born Roman Catholic priest and theologian. Father Harrison is a prolific writer on religious issues and an emeritus professor of theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico (1989-2007). He currently resides in St. Louis, MO. Fr. Harrison spoke about Sacred Scripture, the Church’s teaching on its inerrancy, some of the problems with modern biblical scholarship and the need to include Scripture reading as a part of our spiritual life.
