Catholic Radio 1570AM now broadcasting in Denver and Northern Colorado. Signal has been improved.

Note: If you have tried to tune into the radio station the past few weeks and have able to hear it or it has been weak, please try again as we have resolved some technical issues and have improved the signal strength.

Denver’s new Catholic Radio Station, 1570AM is now broadcasting using call letters KPIO, in honor of St. Padre Pio, whose feast day was celebrated on September 23, 2008. On that same day, KPIO went on the air with its first broadcast in Denver.

During the week of October 28th, KPIO will begin a new and regular programming schedule including programming from the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network.
Programs will include:
Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Catholic Answers
Mornings with Mother Angelica
The Doctor is in, with Dr. Ray Guarendi
The World Over with Raymond Arroyo (Saturday’s encore)
Fr. Corapi
Coverage of Special Live events: Masses from the Vatican, Papal Events/Trips, Traditional Latin Masses

Please see this website for a programming guide and more information on the Catholic Radio Network (CRN): http://www.kexs.com
The signal of the station is not the clearest in Littleton area due to interference from strong local AM stations. The good news is that the signal improves north, east, and west of OLMC, including Aurora. North of downtown Denver, the signal is quite strong all the way to the Wyoming. In the future, 970 AM KFEL, the current Catholic radio station in Colorado Springs will be upgraded and that will provide good service to Southwest area of Denver.
Additional information regarding Catholic Radio in Denver will soon be in the Denver Catholic Register. 1570 AM is a daytime only station for Denver, so at night the Denver area will lose the signal.
