Confirmation

Confirmation for Adults: Adults who have not received Confirmation due to a mistake in the past, should contact the parish secretary for instruction to receive this sacrament.

Confirmation Classes Spring of 2025

Candidates:

First Holy Communion and Confirmation: Children who are in the 3rd grade level of religion class (homeschooling or standard school) may receive first Holy Communion and Confirmation. Due to the “restored order” in the Archdiocese of Denver, both of these sacraments are received at the same time.

 

Requirements:

BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE: If your child is wishing to receive their sacraments, a newly dated Baptismal certificate must be provided from the parish of Baptism. These must be newly dated. Please have them emailed to sacraments@olmcfssp.org. If your child was Baptized at OLMC, we already have a record of your child’s Baptism and therefore no request is needed.

CONFESSION CLASS: If your child is eligible to receive FHC and/or Conf. in 2025, and they have not taken Confession classes at OLMC, they must pass the Confession exam at OLMC before receiving their sacraments. They are welcome to attend classes before taking the exam.

If Your Child Will Be Receiving Confirmation: If the child’s chosen sponsor is not an OLMC parishioner, a personal letter of recommendation from their current parish must be sent to OLMC. Please have it sent to sacraments@olmcfssp.org. 

SPONSOR REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have completed their sixteenth year and can be male or female.
  2. Must have received Holy Communion and Confirmation.
  3. Are living a life in harmony with the Faith.
  4. Cannot be bound by any canonical penalty.
  5. Must not be the father or mother of the one to be confirmed.

 

Information:

Date and Time: Sundays at 2:15pm in the St. Albert room.                                                                                                                                          

Classes: Beginning January 2025. Exact date TBD.

Recordings: All classes will be recorded and available via YouTube.

Testing: All candidates will be required to take a test based on the information in the study guides below. Those wishing to receive first Confession will take a different test than those wishing to receive first Holy Communion/Confirmation. If your child is ready to receive their first Holy Communion/Confirmation but did NOT receive their first Confession at OLMC, they MUST also take the first Confession test in addition to the first Holy Communion/Confirmation test.

Homeschooling Option: Homeschooling instead of coming to the classes is an option as long as the child is able to pass the required test based on the study guides below.
